Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout said the Giallorossi aim to advance in the UEFA Europa Conference League and prepares for a ‘very important’ game against Zorya Luhansk on Thursday.

Jose Mourinho’s men secured two wins against CSKA Sofia and Zorya at the start of the competition, but the one point in two games against Bodo/Glimt have seen La Lupa slip to second in Group C of the competition.

Veretout stressed Roma are looking for a way through to the next phase of the inaugural European tournament, as he spoke at the press conference ahead of the match tomorrow.

Mourinho: ‘It’s a Final for us; Zaniolo will play’

“We know it’s a very important match for us,” Veretout said. “We are playing in the Conference League to win it and losing tomorrow would mean we are out.”

Zorya sit one point behind Roma in the table and would surpass La Lupa with a win and put further pressure on the Italian side ahead of the final game against CSKA Sofia.

“We’ll play it as a Final,” Veretout added. “With enthusiasm and to win the game.”

A win at the Olimpico tomorrow night would make sure Roma are qualified for the next phase. The match in the Italian capital kicks off at 20.00 UK time on Thursday night.
