Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout said the Giallorossi ‘must win’ tonight’s Derby della Capitale against Lazio. ‘You don’t play a derby, you win’.
The French midfielder has contributed seven goals in 16 Serie A games this term and with the Giallorossi third in the table, he looks forward to an ‘electric’ match against the local rivals.
“A derby is always a derby, even if you play the leaders or the club at the bottom,” Veretout told French outlet So Foot.

“Without fans, it will be different. But we will do everything to win it. At Nantes they told me: ‘You don’t play a derby, you win’.
“It’s more difficult here, there’s great competition between the fans. I experienced my first real derby on the bench, I only played in the second game.
“We know it’s an electric match and we really must win. On the other hand, we always respect our opponents, but it’s not war on the pitch either.”
Lazio are eighth in Serie A ahead of the big game at the Olimpico, six points behind La Lupa.
