Veretout scored directly from a corner to help Fiorentina beat Bologna 2-1 on Sunday for their first win of 2018, barely a week after fan protests and amidst renewed doubts about the Della Valle brothers’ interest in running the club.
“It wasn’t an easy week for us, it was an important match that came before the one against Juventus, and we know how important that one is for the fans,” the midfielder told Radio Bruno.
“Bologna are a good team, and it was difficult to face them. My goal? I wanted to cross the ball hard towards goal.
“The owners? The Della Valles told us we were a strong group and that we could do well.”
