Saint-Etienne confirm Jordan Veretout has decided to join Fiorentina but describe the Aston Villa loanee’s conduct as “disappointing”.
Veretout had spent last season on loan at Saint-Etienne, but their sporting director claims the midfielder is heading for Fiorentina, despite giving the French club his “word” that he would stay.
“We know him well as a man and a footballer, but frankly we were surprised and disappointed by his conduct,” Dominique Rocheteau was quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb.

“He didn’t respect the word he had given us and the agreement we had with him.
“His arrival had all been organised, but then told us he wanted to go to Fiorentina.
“His choice is a sporting one. Now we’ve discovered that we weren’t his first choice.”
