Veretout: ‘Fiorentina a challenge’

Jordan Veretout explains he chose Fiorentina because “I like challenges” and “never had any doubts” about signing.

The French midfielder joined from Aston Villa last month in a deal thought to be worth around €7m, and he was officially presented to the media today.

“The Italian League suits me, even if it’s difficult, but then I like challenges,” Veretout said in the Press conference.

The French midfielder joined from Aston Villa last month in a deal thought to be worth around €7m, and he was officially presented to the media today.

“The Italian League suits me, even if it’s difficult, but then I like challenges,” Veretout said in the Press conference.

“Fiorentina are a great team and I’m looking forward to a great adventure. When I learned the Viola were interested in me I never had any doubts.

“Obviously I need to improve in helping the team and in terms of quality. Physically I’ve already grown because I played in the Premier League, but I need to improve in a lot of other aspects.

“The national team? I’m here to do my best for Fiorentina, then we’ll see what happens with the national team in future.”

Fiorentina signed Veretout’s compatriot Valentin Eysseric earlier this month, while it was confirmed yesterday that Milan Badelj is staying.

“I’ve played with Eysseric in the national team, he’s a good friend and a good player and I think he’ll give us a lot.

“As for Badelj, I’m pleased that he’s staying, I think he’s a great player. I like all of our players in that position and I think I can learn so much from them.”
