According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more, negotiations stepped up considerably today in the final hours of the Serie A window.

The 27-year-old winger and two-footed free kick specialist has struggled to get playing time under Carlo Ancelotti since his move from Bologna for €24.5m last summer.

It’s believed the two clubs have worked out the basic terms of a €25m transfer and his agent was spotted visiting Toro President Urbano Cairo’s offices.

It represents a return to Torino, as Verdi was already at the club after leaving the Milan youth academy in 2011.

He spent most of that out on loan at Juve Stabia, Empoli and was sold back to Milan in 2015.
