A statement from the Rossoblu after the match confirmed that he’d suffered a right ankle sprain with detachment at the summit of the medial malleolus, and the attacking midfielder went under the knife today.

“This morning Simone Verdi has surgery on this right ankle,” Bologna confirmed on their official website.
“The operation was performed by the surgical team of professor Giannini and was a complete success.
“The expected recovery time is two-and-a-half to three months.”
