Italy legend Paolo Rossi has commended Bologna attacker Simone Verdi for his ‘brave’ decision to reject Napoli.
Rossi opted to stick with Bologna, despite being offered the chance to compete for the Scudetto with Napoli, and Rossi believes the 25-year-old can realise his potential at the Dall’Ara, where he is a guaranteed starter.

Rossi opted to stick with Bologna, despite being offered the chance to compete for the Scudetto with Napoli, and Rossi believes the 25-year-old can realise his potential at the Dall’Ara, where he is a guaranteed starter.
“I don’t think he knew how many games he’d play because Napoli are very competitive, there’s no doubt about that” the former Juventus striker told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“On one hand, I think the player is obliged to improve, but on the other, I think Verdi didn’t consider it to be the right moment as he could reach his peak in the next five months as a starter for Bologna, where he’s certain to play.
“He made a brave decision and used his brain.”
