Daniele Verde made his Roma debut against Palermo and the 18-year-old admits “my legs were shaking.”
The striker was called up from the bench during last night’s 1-1 Serie A match at the Stadio Barbera.
“Of course playing in such a difficult game was very emotional. I thank the Coach for his faith in me and will try to repay him,” Verde told Roma TV.

“I thought he had motioned towards Maicon, but when he pointed to me and nodded his head to confirm yes. At that moment my legs were shaking – everything was shaking! – but I steeled myself and went on.
“Once on the pitch, I couldn’t hold back. I tried to show what I can do, hoping to do what comes naturally with the utmost determination.”
After a few minutes 38-year-old Francesco Totti also came off the bench, meaning there was a two decade age gap between the strike partners.
