Former Italy Coach Giampiero Ventura confessed he will “never again be a national team boss. I am a Coach, not a selector of players.”

The 71-year-old tactician will forever be remembered as the man who couldn’t get Italy to the 2018 World Cup, losing the play-offs to Sweden.

His overall record with the Azzurri was of 10 wins, four draws and three defeats from September 2016 to November 2017.

“I can only rule out one thing from my future: I will never again be a national team boss,” Ventura told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Ventura did return to a club role for Chievo in October, but quit abruptly after one point from four Serie A games.
