Ventura enjoys FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio's respect for his ability in developing young players, and he already spoke positively of handling the Azzurri before.

“I have a contract until 2018, but you can't say no to coaching Italy,” he said in today's Press conference. “It would be the culmination of a career.

“Ultimately I'd need a strong incentive to make me leave Torino. If such an opportunity came up, I would not turn it down. What Italian Coach would?”
