Chievo captain Sergio Pellissier has insisted that Giampiero Ventura ‘didn’t deserve’ the opportunity to coach the Flying Donkeys.
Pellissier expressed his fury on Instagram after Ventura resigned just four games into his tenure at Chievo, advising people ‘not to be like’ the former Italy CT.
“We've been in Serie A for many years and we want to stay there,” the veteran striker told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We've been in Serie A for many years and we want to stay there,” the veteran striker told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We may bring less money, but I believe stories like ours are still the beauty of football.
“I haven’t heard from Ventura. I snapped the way I did after his resignation for my teammates.
“We gave him everything in that month and he abandoned us. We didn’t deserve it. The new Coach has given us peace of mind and it’s just what we needed.
“Chievo have their spirit back. We should always be a team who fight for every ball and want to win.
“We’d lost that desire, but now it’s back.”
