“That is where our campaign really began. Obviously, I expect another step forward against Sassuolo. We’ve got to realise that until we are entirely sure what it is we want to do, we can’t have the calm to achieve it.
“We tried to speed things up a bit in the opening 15 days, but we had to start from scratch amid many difficulties.”
Chievo are rock bottom, and not just because they started the season from -3 for financial irregularities.
Federico Barba, Fabrizio Cacciatore and Nenad Tomovic are out of action, but Ventura remains upbeat.
“We must start to pick up points and give a sense of consistency to the growth process. At the start we were in pitch darkness, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel and we know which direction we have to go in. Now we have an objective.”
