Ventura infamously refused to introduce Insigne when Italy were in need of a goal to at least take their World Cup playoff into extra-time, while the 70-year-old has yet to bounce back from his sacking in November.

“After a terrible experience for many people and I, I want to go back to doing the only thing I think I can do, which is going out on a football pitch. I can’t wait,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“Not bringing on Insigne against Sweden? I can’t wait to speak out. I’ll tell the whole truth as soon as I’m able to.
“There are great responsibilities, but there are also things that remain unknown. As soon as I have the chance, I’ll also answer this question.”
