Venezia unveiled their third kit for the 2022-23 season, which will be all gold with black detailing, as they explain why ‘template shirts is anathema to us.’

Anyone who has been to Venice will know the importance that gold plays in the city, with gilded churches, monuments and of course its key place in the art of the Renaissance.

This third kit has black detailing on the collar, including a button, the sleeve cuffs and the new-look club badge.

The club decided to picture the jersey on a model sat upon a gondola, drinking coffee with croissants on the terrace and generally going about her fashionable life on the Laguna, confirming they intend to sell kits not only to football fans, but also as part of an overall brand.

With that in mind, Venezia were profiled on High Snobiety as “football’s most fashionable club.”

Venezia’s Chief Brand Officer Ted Philipakos explained the very special approach that they have taken to the design of their playing kits.

“There are a lot of template shirts out there, which is anathema to us. We left Nike for Kappa in part because we like Kappa as an Italian brand with a rich heritage and a strong production capability, but above all we made the switch to gain full creative control, and that was a critical move for us.”

Despite relegation to Serie B, Philipakos points out that Venezia’s kits have “significantly” outsold the 2021-22 editions.
