Udinese and Genoa have reportedly both set their sights on Davide Nicola if they fire Lucas Velazquez and Ivan Juric.

Sky Sport Italia claim Udinese have decided to fire Spanish tactician Velazquez after picking up one point from the last seven rounds.

Many of these defeats have been tight, such as the last-gasp loss to Milan or today’s 2-1 at Empoli after Rodrigo De Paul missed a penalty.

According to the latest reports, Udinese have formally taken 48 hours to make a decision, but are convinced Velazquez must be replaced.

The favourite seems to be ex-Crotone boss Nicola, but he is also first choice for Genoa if they axe Juric.

It’d be another odd development, as Juric was only hired a month ago to replace sacked Davide Ballardini.

Cesare Prandelli and Claudio Ranieri are also candidates for these two Serie A benches.

Another alternative for Udinese would be former Spartak Moscow Coach Massimo Carrera or even ex-Watford man Quique Sanchez Flores.
