Matias Vecino is ready to leave Inter in search of more playing time and is reportedly in talks with both Roma and Lazio.

The Uruguay international midfielder is not part of coach Simone Inzaghi’s plans, making 15 competitive appearances this season between Serie A and the Champions League, in which he scored one goal.

The vast majority of those were as a substitute and he has expressed the desire to go elsewhere in order to play more regularly.

He left Fiorentina to join Inter for €24m in the summer of 2017 and his current contract is due to expire in June 2022.

According to Sportitalia, there are proposals from both Jose Mourinho’s Roma and Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio for a January switch.

It could be on loan, or as a free agent, terminating his Inter contract early by mutual consent.

Vecino has been in Serie A since January 2013, representing Fiorentina, Cagliari, Empoli and Inter.

  1. Will be forever grateful for his talismanic goals towards the CL return. The header against Lazio in the dying seconds was absolutely extatic. Fare well Matias!
