Manchester United defender Raphael Varane will reportedly be in Italy next week to meet personally with Como, who are also pushing for Olympique Marseille goalkeeper Pau Lopez.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, Varane is genuinely tempted by the idea of moving to the club that just earned promotion from Serie B.
He will be a free agent this summer, as his contract with Manchester United expires on June 30, having made the move from Real Madrid for €40m in 2021.
Como close on Varane and Pau Lopez
Varane is still only 31 years old and the France international will seemingly be in Italy next week to visit the Como headquarters, training ground, see the city and decide if he wants to make this transfer.
He will also meet with coach Cesc Fabregas, who is only six years his senior.
Meanwhile, Como are also increasing their pressure on Olympique Marseille to sign goalkeeper Pau Lopez, aiming to make it a loan with obligation to buy if they stay in Serie A.
There is still debate over the cost, as Marseille are asking for €8m.
