Ajax director Edwin van der Sar salutes Inter-bound André Onana and confirms Juventus and Manchester United target Ryan Gravenberch wants to leave in the summer.

Onana has already undergone his medicals with the Nerazzurri who will soon announce his free move to the Stadio Meazza.

“We say goodbye to a goalkeeper and right back”, Van der Sar told De Telegraaf, referring to Onana and Noussair Mazraoui.

“And we have a midfielder with a wish to leave,” he added, pointing to Gravenberch, who has been linked with Juventus and Manchester United.

“When you play so well in the Champions League, there will naturally be interest in many players. That makes sense, but we also want to maintain our ambitions. We will continue to watch transfers carefully.”

Gravenberch was a client of Mino Raiola and new Man United coach Erik ten Hag seems determined to reunite with the Netherlands international at Old Trafford in 2022-23. Juventus will be looking for a new central midfielder in the summer and have been linked with several players, especially Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Paul Pogba and Jorginho.

Pogba is available as a free agent as he won’t extend his contract at Old Trafford, but Juventus will face competition from PSG to sign the France international. The Red Devils seem to have more financial resources than the Old Lady if they are to sign Gravenberch in the summer.

The 19-year-old’s contract in Amsterdam runs out in 2023, so Ajax may be forced to sell if they don’t find an agreement to extend his stay at the club.

  1. Juve should be after Gravenberch and Mazroui, not has-beens like Di Maria and wasters like Pogba.

But given this is Serie A, expect the latter 2 “names” to arrive quicker, get paid 8 times more, and flop.
