Marco van Basten believes that appointing Clarence Seedorf as Milan Coach makes ‘great sense’.

The Heerenveen boss has backed his countryman to succeed at San Siro, but does admit that his lack of experience is a risk.

Marco van Basten believes that appointing Clarence Seedorf as Milan Coach makes ‘great sense’.

The Heerenveen boss has backed his countryman to succeed at San Siro, but does admit that his lack of experience is a risk.

“Milan’s choice makes great sense,” he told Nos. “But it is also a great risk. No one knows how Seedorf will address situations.

“I think it’s a wise decision, but that’s only my view – it’s not for me to decide.

“Clarence speaks fluent Italian and had a great career at the club – I think that’s an important factor.”
