Valencia sporting director Mateu Alemany confirms they’re “very close” to Inter’s Jeison Murillo but “we’ll have to wait a little longer” for Geoffrey Kondogbia.
Representatives from the Spanish club were in Italy this week to negotiate for both players, and it’s thought Murillo will move in the coming days.
Kondogbia, on the other hand, skipped training today to try and force the Nerazzurri’s hand, drawing the ire of Coach Luciano Spalletti.
“It’s normal that people are nervous,” Alemany said at the official presentation of this year’s squad.
“The market is inflated and you have to take your time. We’re working to a schedule, and we’re going to raise the pace to hopefully get a couple of signings soon.
“With Murillo we’re very close to reaching a deal, but until he’s signed I’ll say nothing.
“Kondogbia is a bit further away and we’ll have to wait a little longer. He’s a player who cost a lot of money and he’s important.”
