Valencia appear to be missing out on two of their Serie A targets, as Milan winger Samu Castillejo turns them down, while Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara is closer to Venezia.

The Spaniards had turned their focus towards Italian football for January reinforcements, but seem set to emerge empty-handed.

According to transfer pundit Nicolò Schira, Castillejo has yet again rejected a transfer after he was also linked with Sampdoria and former Rossoneri coach Marco Giampaolo.

Meanwhile, Roma midfielder Diawara remains unconvinced and Sky Sport Italia report that Valencia weren’t entirely sure about going for the Guinea international either.

Instead, Venezia have approached the Giallorossi for a loan deal, after he made only seven competitive appearances this season.

Diawara was meant to leave in January so Roma could free up resources to bring in another midfielder, but he remained adamant that he would not simply accept any destination, his pickiness frustrating Jose Mourinho and the club hierarchy.

  1. Seriously Samu? Don’t you want to play?

I always thought it’s weird for a young player to prefer collecting a slightly bigger paycheck over actually playing football, but that’s his right of course.

  2. @square : As much as it pains me to write this, Samu isn’t going to be apart of Scudetto celebrations whether he stays or goes.

  3. Samu earns to much money that leo gave him to leave us…hes not gonna go far anyway in his career so he might as well sit the next one or two season on the bench collecting money while he can
