Valencia have contacted Juventus over the possibility of signing Arthur, according to reports in Italy.

Recent reports have suggested the Brazil midfielder is free to leave the Allianz Stadium this summer as he does not fit into coach Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.

He has been linked with Premier League sides as well as Roma as part of a potential exchange for Nicolò Zaniolo.

However, Sky Italia report Valencia, managed by ex-Milan and Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso, have made initial contact over a potential transfer.

Arthur joined Juventus in 2020 in a deal which saw Miralem Pjanić go in the other direction a move to Barcelona.

He initially joined Barcelona amid much promise as the star of the Grêmio side which won the 2017 Copa Libertadores but struggled to meet expectation – a trend which continued in Serie A.

In two season with Juve, he made 63 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal.

I actually like SMS a lot. But I don’t know if Allegri can employ him to his full potential. Plus, Juve are a few years late on this transfer.

  2. @Brian, I’m also a Juve fan that would love SMS at Juve. Don’t think they can afford it though.
