Sky Sport Italia report that Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia are in talks for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, who are strong competition for Arsenal.

The player is not part of coach Max Allegri’s plans and was left behind in Turin while the rest of the squad travelled to the United States for their pre-season tour.

Arsenal had seemed like the only real option to get him off their books, having already come close to a deal in January.

It would be a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season.

However, now Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims this evening that Valencia have made an approach and are in negotiations with Juventus for the Brazilian.

Valencia could have some players of interest to Juve in a potential exchange deal, such as left-back Jose Gaya and midfielder Carlos Soler.

Both of those players are out of contract in June 2023, so could be swapped to make it a permanent Arthur transfer.

However, it’s far more likely to be a dry one-season loan, with Valencia trying to pay at least most of his salary.

  1. Please God, let this be real.

I would personally drive him there myself. Maybe bring Ramsey and Rabiot along for the ride and just kick them out somewhere along the road.

  2. Please am from Washington DC and ama die hard juve fan
Please we need a left back and Soler isn’t bad for our midfield too
