The Italian international has followed Coach Maurizio Sarri to San Paolo, and updated Radio Crc on the team’s preparations for the coming season.
“I’m aware that I’ve arrived at a great team,” Valdifiori explained.
“It will always be the top, in Italy and in Europe. We must always go out to win and to please the fans, who always follow us with affection.
“I’ve had a beautiful experience, my teammates have greeted me well, and helped me to settle in. I immediately felt at ease.
“At Napoli, you play to win. There’s some pressure, but when you’re trying to achieve certain objectives, that’s normal. You have to give everything to win.
“Allan and Hamsik? There are so many good players in midfield. Napoli have a lot of options, and no-one should feel they’re guaranteed a place.
“We all have to pull in the same direction.”
Having worked with him at Empoli, the playmaker is used to Sarri’s methods, and offered an idea of what to expect in the coming season.
“He has a group of smart lads available to him. We’re all happy, and always open to what the Coach asks of us.
“I’ve been working with the Coach for three years, so I already know what he wants. Sarri’s style is fun for us players, because there are different solutions for everyone.
“The defensive line is very high, which allows us to press much higher. The work he did at Empoli will bear fruit with Napoli.”
