“I am very proud to wear the Roma jersey. It’s extraordinary to be here, as I watched Serie A since I was a little boy and Roma are among the most important clubs in Italy.
“I spoke to my agent about this three weeks ago and as soon as I heard of Roma’s interest, I accepted straight away. They’ve got Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi in a magnificent stadium.
“I believe Serie A is one of the best Leagues in the world, so this is a big step up for my development as a player.
“I am a defensive midfielder, so I like to win back the ball and involve my teammates. I have decent technique and can run up and down the flank. I do need to improve my finishing in front of goal.
“I will learn so much from these champions and am very happy to be playing alongside them. With this squad, Roma can win the title and go far in Europe too.
“I’ve always wanted to play in the Champions League and face teams like Barcelona. I will work hard to settle in as quickly as possible so I can help Roma to win.”
