Juventus are sweating over Rodrigo Bentancur’s fitness concerns as Uruguay CT Oscar Tabarez confirmed he has a problem in ‘a delicate area’ that must be ‘treated correctly’.

The Uruguayan midfielder was substituted after 70 minutes in the World Cup Qualifier against Peru and left the pitch after one half in last night’s game against Bolivia.

Juventus are hoping to have Bentancur available against Napoli in Serie A after the international break, but the Uruguay CT Tabarez said he has a ‘delicate’ injury, reportedly in the hip area.

“I’m not a doctor but there have been similar injuries in the past,” Tabarez told reporters, according to Calciomercato.com.

“The problem is in a delicate area but if it deflates and is treated correctly, it’s not a problem and it’s resolved quickly.

“There’s hope that he will be there on Thursday.”

Uruguay play Ecuador in their next game this month after a 1-1 draw against Peru and a 4-2 win over Bolivia.

  1. What’s to sweat over? It’s not like he’s done anything useful for Juve lately except for playing under par.

  2. Average player at best, I hope they cash in on him along with other deadwood in the squad and build a midfield around Locatelli.
