The Squali have struggled to compete in the initial phase of the season, having conceded 10 goals already and sit bottom after three Serie A games.

Sporting director Ursino revealed he went through a ‘quick market’ and highlights Brazilian forward Junior Messias as the ‘spearhead’ of the team.

“It was difficult, a very quick market,” Ursino told Tuttomercatoweb. “One championship ended and the new one started immediately.

“It was not the market I have known for 23 years. There was great enthusiasm in the market I knew. Now, people are afraid of being next to others.

“We have brought in good and useful players. The spearhead might be one we already had, namely Messias.”

Ursino believes Serie A is ‘right to expand the lists’ in order to deal with the current COVID-19 crisis.

“It would be useful. COVID is complicated. Playing every three days is not easy, it’s correct to expand the lists.

“The most important thing is people’s health, let’s hope for the vaccine…”
