The visitors are struggling badly in Poland and hadn’t scored at all yet in their two Europa League games, but sealed a shock 2-1 result at the Stadio Franchi.
“Fiorentina’s superiority in the first half was evident, but we were very patient and with a bit of luck, while defending very well, we were able to bring home the result.
“The Viola were very difficult to take on, but our defence did so well to annul Khouma Babacar’s threat.”
Fiorentina are top of the Serie A table, yet have lost both their Europa League home games to Basel and Lech Poznan.
“Was I surprised by this Fiorentina performance? They are certainly the favourites in this group, but we too made some changes to the squad that played on Sunday. I am not surprised.”
