Monza’s win over Milan means the Rossoneri remain two points behind second-placed Juventus and 11 below Inter, who also have a game in hand.

Monza beat Milan 4-2 at the U-Power Stadium on Sunday night, so the Rossoneri failed to leapfrog Juventus in second place.

Atalanta beat Sassuolo on Sunday while Bologna secured a crucial 2-1 away win at Lazio on Sunday, so both Gian Piero Gasperini and Thiago Motta have 45 points below Milan, but La Dea have a game in hand.

Roma remain involved in the race for the top four with 41 points following a 3-0 win over Frosinone at the Stadio Stirpe, which caused controversy for Dean Huijsen’s goal celebration.

Fiorentina were held to a 1-1 draw by Empoli so the Viola sit 7th with 38 points. Lazio and Napoli have 37 and 36 respectively, but both sides have a game in hand.

There are eight teams involved in the race for survival. Salernitana are nearly gone as they’ve only earned 13 points so far, but Cagliari, Verona, Sassuolo, Empoli, Frosinone, Udinese and Lecce still hope to avoid relegation to Serie B.

Lautaro Martinez netted once in Inter’s 4-0 win over Salernitana on Friday night and remains the Serie A leading scorer with 20 goals in 22 league games.
