Milan have overtaken Juventus in the Serie A table, while Roma are three points below Bologna after an away 2-2 draw against Fiorentina.

Milan leapfrogged Juventus into second place in Serie A on Sunday thanks to a 1-0 win over Empoli at San Siro, while the Bianconeri were held to a home 2-2 draw by Atalanta.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men won just one game from the last seven, conceding 11 goals. They remain 11 points ahead of Atalanta and 10 above Roma. The Giallorossi secured a 2-2 draw in Florence on Sunday night thanks to a late equaliser from Diego Llorente.

The race for the Champions League remains wide open and could involve a fifth club this season, but the battle for survival is just as exciting.

Hellas Verona beat Lecce at the Stadio Via Del Mare in the early afternoon, and the Giallorossi could sack their coach, Roberto D’Aversa, who headbutted Thomas Henry after the final whistle.

There are currently seven teams within just three points and only Salernitana seem to have lost hope to survive.

Lautaro Martinez (23) and Dusan Vlahovic (15), Serie A’s leading scorer this season didn’t play this weekend. The Argentinean rested in Inter‘s win over Bologna on Saturday ahead of next week’s Champions League decider against Atletico Madrid, while Vlahovic served a one-game ban against Atalanta.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was the only player among the top 10 Serie A scorers to find the net in Week 28, which will be completed on Monday with Lazio‘s home game against Udinese.
