Rafael Leao was spotted training on the grass at Milanello on Tuesday morning, just over 24 hours before kick-off in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter at San Siro on Wednesday evening.

However, the Portuguese international was not involved with the rest of the first-team squad and continued working on an individual programme.

Leao limped off just after 11 minutes into Milan’s 2-0 win over Lazio on Saturday afternoon, just four days away from the crucial Champions League clash.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Leao completed some running and light training drills on Tuesday, marking an improvement in his condition, given that he was confined to working in the gym the day before.

It still remains to be seen whether Leao will have any involvement against Inter on Wednesday, but the player himself remains adamant that he will still be able to contribute.

With such a short space to recover from his injury setback, it is expected that any potential involvement from Leao will likely be from the substitutes’ bench, although nothing has yet been confirmed either way.
