Frustration is continuing to grow for Dusan Vlahovic, who seemingly did everything but find the back of the net in Juventus’ 4-2 win over Sampdoria, earning sympathy from the Italian press.

The 23-year-old Serbian striker has not scored in his last seven outings across all competitions for the Bianconeri, leading to the emergence of doubts from some fans in the Piedmont capital.

The win over Sampdoria was an infuriating match for Vlahovic, who missed a penalty and hit the woodwork multiple times, failing to break his dry streak against the struggling Blucerchiati. He was consoled on the pitch by Dejan Stankovic after the game, a sign of his frustration at the match.

La Gazzetta dello Sport had some sympathy for Vlahovic but also drew attention to his dry streak, noting how the Serb was “inaccurate but also unlucky”, and now has “a fifth match in Serie A without scoring, something that’s never happened before”.

Corriere dello Sport highlighted how the 23-year-old striker “fought against everything and everyone in search of a happiness that didn’t come”, pointing out how the fans in the Allianz Stadium were clearly disappointed with his work on the pitch.

Tuttosport were a little more positive about Vlahovic, underlining how he put in a good shift despite failing to break onto the scoresheet, saying: “Technically speaking he also played a good match, in which he tried to score in every way and in which he was only stopped by the woodwork.”
