Speculation has resurfaced of Pogba possibly returning to Juve in January after the midfielder was dropped for United’s last three games, adding to his already-strained relationship with Mourinho.

However, Eladio Parames maintains the Red Devils’ refusal to sign players in the ilk of Blaise Matuidi over the summer is behind the Frenchman’s lack of form.

“Pogba is worth a lot in commercial terms, so much so that United recovered what they spent on him in six months,” he told Record.

“However, without runners like Matuidi and Kante by his side, he’s worth nothing on the field.

“United didn’t give Mourinho those runners, despite asking Woodward for them last summer, and now he’s forced to see Pogba turn into the player who loses the most balls in the Premier League.”
