A fee between the two clubs seems to be the only thing stopping the 26-year-old from joining Inter.

However, United paid Everton €85m for Lukaku two years ago and want to recoup as much of that outlay as possible.

His agent Federico Pastorello met new Beneamata boss Coach Antonio Conte on Wednesday, although it is understood the summit was to discuss other clients Valentino Lazaro and Edoardo Vergani.

Lazaro has been the subject of pressing from Inter, while Vergani should swap clubs with Roma hitman Edin Dzeko.
