Union Berlin director Oliver Ruhnert refuses to rule out signing Leonardo Bonucci and reveals Robin Gosens joined the Bundesliga side from Inter for less than €15m.

Ruhnert spoke to ZDF sports on Saturday evening confirming that Juventus defender Bonucci is among his targets.

“We definitely want to add a central defender,” the 51-year-old said, as quoted by Spiegel Sports.

“He hasn’t arrived yet and I assume we’ll finalize our planning by next Friday. Then we’ll know if he’s coming or not.”

Ruhnert also spoke about Gosens’ signing from Inter, suggesting that the German winger cost less than €15m.

“There are so many things with today’s contracts, such as options and bonuses,” he said.

Ruhnert added that the initial price was close to €13m, suggesting that €15m is a fee that can be reached with add-ons.

“Gosens had the dream of playing in the Bundesliga, also with regard to the European Championships at home next year,” he continued.

“In the end, we managed to persuade the player.”
