Robin Gosens is on the market this summer for Inter and Union Berlin finally confirmed they are tracking this ‘extremely interesting’ player.

He just turned 29 this week and is looking for a new experience after his €27.4m move from Atalanta failed to recreate the form he showed in Bergamo.

Injury problems piled up too and the winner has made 58 competitive appearances for the Nerazzurri in 18 months, scoring five goals and providing one assist.

A switch to Germany seems the most likely, with Wolfsburg also interested, but Union Berlin admit they are leading the pack.

“We are talking about a player who was in the Champions League Final, so this would be a very interesting profile for us,” Union Berlin chief Ruhnert told reporters.

“There are others though. We will play in the Champions League, but we are not a Champions League level team. Gosens would be an extremely interesting addition to the side, without doubt.”

In the Premier League, Bournemouth have kept an eye on Gosens, but the Bundesliga would be more of a draw considering he plays his international football for Germany.

He has dual citizenship with Germany and the Netherlands, but has decided to represent Germany at international level, usually as a wing-back in a five-man midfield.
