Maurizio Zamparini insists Palermo will be active in the transfer market next month, despite Unicredit freezing the club’s overdraft facility.
Zamparini’s desire to sell up, coupled with a €15m payment owed to Paulo Dybala’s agency and bank issues had cast doubt over Palermo’s ability to make signings in January, but the President claims the Rosanero “have other resources” to utilise.
"We’ll go for players that are prepared and have heart,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“The difference between ourselves and teams like Chievo and Genoa is heart, not technique.
“We need at least two additions in defence, in light of Rajkovic’s long absence, and one in midfield.
“Attack concerns me less. Trajkovski is back and Nestorovski was the best player on the pitch the other night. He’s our captain for the future.
“Then there’s Diamanti who, if used when our opponents are tiring, is devastating. When played like an older Del Piero, he’s lethal.
“Corini? He has a crazy desire to do well and is transmitting it to the team. He’s soft-spoken and thoughtful, but he has incredible energy. He believes in our survival.
“Ballardini didn’t believe in the team, he only wanted his salary raised.
“Foschi went because I didn’t agree with him. I wanted to focus on the two young lads, De Zerbi and Faggiano.
“The Coach, however, shouldn’t be so much of a hardliner. You can’t be a Guardiola without Barcelona. Faggiano? I don’t know why he left…
“Now there’s Simic, he’s my man in Palermo. But due to the transfer market, I’ve already moved on five sporting directors.
“Unicredit affecting our January business? We have other resources. I wrote, however, a letter to the bank. in which I said that they should be ashamed…”
