Milan may be desperate to tie down Rafael Leao but they face an uphill battle considering the interest from abroad.

Media reports today detailed how the Rossoneri are aware of the genuine interest in the 22-year-old Portuguese forward and so they’re hoping to lock him down with a new contract. The main obstacle now is his salary request; his agent Mendes is now pushing for a €5m plus add-ons salary, something which the Milanese club are unconvinced about.

Milan will have to decide fast, however, as there’s serious interest from abroad for Leao. Premier League sides Manchester City and Newcastle United are both keen to pick him up, putting the Rossoneri in a tough spot.

Leao’s renewal depends on whether or not Bahraini investment fund Investcorp complete their takeover of the club. Should this go through, the club will easily have enough to afford his new request. Recent rumours suggest executive president Mohammed Bin Mahfoodh Al Ardhi wants to make Leao a symbol of the club for years to come.

  1. I’d love to keep him for another 5 but EPL is probably tempting for him. In that case I hope the cash in on him. Can lose him on a free transfer.

  2. haha, literally everything this guy apollo writes is anti-milan and of course my comments are getting deleted.

  3. His contract is up in 2024, so they need to not let it run out like they did with 3 players they could have gotten 150m for but got nothing.

Leao looks good in patches, but like many wingers, vanishes quite a bit too.

If they were offered a crazy fee from an oil club, it may be best taking it.

Have you seen what Apollo creed looks like? Literally looks like a kid who’s balls have just dropped. He’s constantly posting nonsense, and does the same on twitter too.

  5. He has character and good technics.he is good with the ball at his feet, easily takes out defenders and has an eye for goal.he should win the MVP of season.without him milan won’t be where they are now.

  6. The Serie A can’t afford to lose players with pace and technique. Although I’m a Juve supporter, I hope he stays.

  7. @ yeah its me

Considering we are going to be one of the richer clubs I highly doubt we will lose our jewel for free

  8. How is a wage of 5m too much? He’s worth at least 8.5m in the market, and Milan should pay it without question. Would be a shame for Setie A to lose another top talent.

a few years ago u said Donnarumma and Calhanohlu were definitely staying. Look how that turned out.
