Milan have a long list of uncertainties heading into the summer, least of all their new head coach, with a number of players possibly on the way out.

The Rossoneri find themselves in a state of flux at the tail end of the 2023-24 season, still looking around for a new head coach to replace Stefano Pioli, whose five-year spell is only weeks away from coming to an end.

Despite securing a second-place finish in Serie A, disappointment still reigns supreme at Milan and fans are expecting changes in the summer, hoping to see reinforcements arrive in the transfer market. Whilst there are some certainties, doubts still shroud many in the squad.

Milan uncertainties

Page 14 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Milan have at least three certainties in their first team heading into the summer – Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. For the rest, nothing can be confirmed.

Mike Maignan is no closer to renewing his contract with the club, leaving just over two years left on his deal, and things are similar for Theo Hernandez, who could be sold to generate resources like Sandro Tonali last year.

A handful will certainly leave, including Simon Kjaer and Olivier Giroud, whilst others will likely remain in the squad, like Tijjani Reijnders, Yunus Musah, Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze. Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori have both disappointed this term, as has Yacine Adli, leaving the door open for the summer.
