The role is up for grabs in elections later this month after Carlo Tavecchio resigned in the wake of Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup.
Players’ Association President Tommasi was the first to put himself forward as a candidate, but has now been joined by Lega Pro chief Gabriele Gravina and Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (Amateur Leagues) President Cosimo Sibilia.
“The Coaches’ Association is supporting Tommasi,” declared Ulivieri.
“I hope there will be agreement on one name or another, so we don’t end up with three candidates, because that would be too many.
“I don’t think there’s the need for a single candidate, as that would give off a bad impression, but two would be sufficient. I hope the situation can be resolved tomorrow when we meet the Lega Serie A.
“I am worried today that we have still not fully grasped the situation, as an institutional crisis has been created in the dark.”
