Giorgio Marchetti, the deputy secretary of UEFA, commented on Juventus’ ongoing legal issues and the next steps for the three Super League clubs.

The Bianconeri were handed a 15-point deduction by the FIGC court last month for allegedly falsifying their capital gains through inflated player transfer values, and are at risk of further penalties because of the ongoing Prisma investigation, headed by the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Speaking to La Politica nel Pallone on Gr Parlamento, Marchetti first confirmed that UEFA were waiting before making a decision on Juventus.

“There are ongoing investigations that have not yet been concluded against Juventus, there is a ruling that has already been made and which I understand will be appealed. We will wait to see the documentation of all the files.

“UEFA must behave respecting the regulations. We are waiting to see if there are any profiles regarding the UEFA regulations. Juventus will be judged like all clubs.”

The UEFA deputy secretary then spoke about what comes next for the three clubs still attached to the Super League project – Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“It’s up to them to decide what they want to do, these are three fundamental clubs for European football. But an attempt to approach them does not depend on UEFA.”

As part of the FIGC court’s decision, bans were handed to a number of former Juventus directors, including ex-president Andrea Agnelli, now-Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici and former vice-president Pavel Nedved.

The Bianconeri are now waiting for their preliminary hearing in the Prisma investigation, which’ll take place next month.
