According to reports, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is under UEFA investigation for violating ‘the basic rules of decent conduct.’

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that UEFA are looking into the situation, which is already the subject of a FIGC investigation in Italy.

It occurred on the pitch of Barcelona’s stadium on Monday afternoon, when Matteo Politano was in the middle of an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

Remarkably, De Laurentiis interrupted them and physically pushed the journalist and cameraman out of the way to lead Politano from the scene.

As it was during the coverage of a Champions League match, which Sky Sport Italia had the rights to cover, UEFA are looking at possibly charging De Laurentiis with violating Article 11b of the General Principles of Conduct.

“Member associations and clubs, as well as their players, officials and members, and all persons assigned by UEFA to exercise a function, must respect the Laws of the Game, as well as UEFA’s Statutes, regulations, directives and decisions, and comply with the principles of ethical conduct, loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship.”

Article 11b specifically is anyone “whose conduct is insulting or otherwise violates the basic rules of decent conduct.”

De Laurentiis has spent the last couple of weeks engaging in a series of arguments with various different television companies, barring his players, coach and directors from speaking to DAZN or at times Sky Sport Italia.

He also shouted at a CBS Sports cameraman who was filming ahead of a match and is trying to prevent DAZN from showing footage inside the locker room, even though they do have those rights.
