UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and committee member Zvonimir Boban were present at Italy’s training session today and will attend the opening of Fiorentina’s new training ground.

The Azzurri continued their preparations for the EURO 2024 qualifiers against Malta on Saturday and England next Tuesday, working at the Coverciano camp.

Special guests this afternoon included UEFA chief Ceferin and former Milan midfielder and director Boban, who were given a guided tour of the facilities.

Coverciano is near to Florence, so they will also be in the area later today to attend the grand opening of the Viola Park.

This is a state of the art new training facility created by Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso, which includes its own stadium for friendly games, the youth team and women’s squad to play their official matches.

Investment in the building of the structure is believed to have reached €110m since it was first announced with the purchase of the land in Bagno a Ripoli in October 2019.
