Udinese vs. Salernitana hasn’t been officially postponed and the Friulani insist the match will be played today, which is the same thing that happened last year with Juventus vs. Napoli.

The local health authority hasn’t allowed Salernitana to travel to Udine for today’s game which, on paper, should kick off at 17.30 UK time.

However, the FIGC hasn’t officially postponed the match, so Udinese are acting like it will go ahead as scheduled.

They will likely travel to the stadium, announce a line-up and even warm up so they can get a 3-0 win by default.

This tweet below was posted by Udinese at 11 am UK time.

Juventus acted the same way one year ago when Napoli didn’t travel to Turin because of restrictions imposed by the local health authority.

The fixture had been abandoned rather than called off and Napoli were punished with an automatic 3-0 defeat and also docked one point for not attending the match.

Official: Salernitana banned from Udinese game after COVID outbreak

The Lega Serie A and FIGC both ruled that Napoli had not stuck rigidly to the agreed COVID-19 protocols, not doing enough to ensure they could at least try to participate in the match.

However, one month later, the Partenopei won their appeal, the penalty point was revoked and the game was rescheduled.
