Udinese host Atalanta this weekend on the back of securing their first Serie A win of the season last weekend as they snatched a 1-0 victory away at Milan. Gabriele Cioffi has returned to the club in a bid to revive their campaign and victory at the San Siro was a key step forward.
Despite not managing to win a league game prior to that result, Udinese have proven to be a resilient side, with seven draws in 11 matches overall – more than any other side in Serie A. That positivity will give them a boost for this game, alongside playing in front of their home fans. There is also the fact that they have not lost at home in the league since the end of September.
Atalanta’s form is better, with two Serie A wins in their last five, but they come into this game on the back of a midweek Europa League game.
The key for Cioffi and Udinese will be building on their momentum. The hosts have not scored over 2.5 goals in any of their league games so far this season, with their last four league outings ending with under 2.5 goals scored in total.
Udinese do not concede many goals though, and they have not let in more than one in their last four league clashes, so they will be confident of extending that run against Atalanta.
