The Friulani continue their preparations for the Champions League preliminary round, having beaten Bordeaux on their own turf earlier this week.

Francesco Guidolin’s side lifted the Kopa Baiona trophy and took the lead after 31 minutes when Diego Fabbrini pounced on the rebound from Di Natale’s shot off the post.

After the break Marseille pushed harder and drew level thanks to 19-year-old substitute Chris Gadi.

However, Udinese held out under pressure and netted the winner on the counter-attack with a splendid Di Natale lob.

The Italians tested out a 4-3-3 system during the final stages of the game and were fortunate to avoid a late equaliser when Remy nodded on to the crossbar.
