Udinese have signed 23-year-old Slovenia international Jaka Bijol from CSKA Moscow in a deal worth over €4m.

He had his medical and put pen to paper on a five-year contract, believed to be worth €800,000 per season.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the transfer fee was set at €4m, with another €500,000 in add-ons and a 10 per cent cut of any future sale going to CSKA Moscow.

Despite only being 23 years of age, Bijol has already amassed 31 senior caps for Slovenia, scoring one goal.

The centre-back can also play in a more advanced defensive midfield role.

He spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan in Germany at Hanover 96.

Meanwhile, Udinese played a pre-season friendly against local side Rapid Lienz and won 11-0 with Sandi Lovric, Tolgay Arslan and Jean-Victor Makengo all bagging a brace each.

The others on target were Ilija Nestorovski, Nicolò Cocetta, Gerard Deulofeu, Roberto Pereyra and Isaac Success.

  1. I’m sure they’ve signed him to play at centre back, because he is arguably the slowest footballer in the whole of European football. Not sure what Udinese see in him. Lanky, bereft of technique and has the turning ability of a cruise ship. Should get on well next to Becao 😂
