Udinese President Franco Soldati has spoken of the pride the club has in rookie goalkeeper Simone Scuffet.

The 17-year-old was once again highly impressive in his last game, putting in a man of the match performance to help the Bianconeri to a 0-0 draw with Inter.

“Scuffet is making us proud,” Soldati told Radio Sportiva. “Even more so because he is Friuliano.

“He never stops surprising us. We can’t burn him out though, he needs to continue having humility as he does at the moment.

“If he does that, he will have a great future.

“Seeing him at the World Cup would be a prize for all of us and for him it would crown a fantastic season.

“It would be an important step in his development, let’s hope he makes the squad.”
