Udinese confirmed Juventus are closer to Roberto Pereyra than Inter, but denied Pablo Armero and Simone Scuffet talks.

“Pereyra is wanted by many big clubs, which is normal considering he has rare characteristics,” director of sport Cristiano Giaretta told Sportitalia.

“Juventus more than Inter? Yes, we can say that.”

The Friulani bought out the remaining 50 per cent of Armero’s contract from Napoli and he too has been linked with Juve, Inter, Milan and Roma.

“It is not true that Juventus asked for Armero on loan and we do not have negotiations with any club. He has just finished an important experience at the World Cup with Colombia.

“He’s our player and it’s entirely possible we could see him in pre-season training with Udinese. I can confirm he is above all of interest to clubs overseas, though.”

Giaretta shot down reports Atletico Madrid could sign teenage goalkeeper Scuffet and send him on loan to Granada, the other club owned by Udinese patrons the Pozzo family.

“There are no negotiations taking place and we are not looking to sell Scuffet. He is part of our squad and will begin training with us.

“We’ll see what happens in future, but currently there is nothing in these rumours. We haven’t sat down with any club for him and we are not looking for buyers.”
